At Dr. Rao’s Hospital Stroke Center, our top priority is delivering the highest-quality healthcare to our patients. Achieving our goals for safety and excellence is nothing but working continuously to improve the care we are providing. We regularly brainstorm to enhance our care.
We work through to be safe program and strive to provide the best quality to our patients. We believe in providing this information to help you decide where to seek your stroke care.
Initial Treatment After Stroke
Emergency improvement measures:
Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA)
Eighty percent of strokes are ischemic due to a lack of blood supply to the brain; they happen when a blood clot or a thick clump of blood blocks a blood vessel. tPA is a medication that recovers from an ischemic stroke by breaking up the chunk so blood will reach the brain. The earlier the tPA, the more likely the survival and complete recovery. We need to follow a list of checks at every point to give tPA; if contraindications are present, we will stop giving it. Stroke team members will work continuously to complete these checks as quickly as possible to provide patients with tPA ASAP.
Care in the Hospital
We follow the measures to improve the quality of care we provide
Preventing Blood Clots
Preventing blood clots is the essential way to prevent another stroke. Immobility is the most common cause of the blood clotting mechanism, and we stop it by early mobilization and anti-blood clotting agents by day 2. We measure continuously how many people received and how many complications happened.
Stroke Prevention Education
We continuously teach our patients about the signs and symptoms of the stroke and ensure they will not have difficulty identifying another stroke.
Assessing for Rehabilitation Services
We advise our patients to undergo early rehabilitation.
After Discharge
We will check and analyze whether Patients are Discharged With Blood Clot Prevention Medicine Prescription or not, as this is the most critical factor in preventing a second stroke, antithrombotic therapy
